Brindisi
The Gate of the East of Puglia
This city has very ancient origins, which takes back to prehistoric times.
It is called the Gate of the East because in the past it was an important landing for Roman troops.
The city develops along an elegant promenade where there are many local restaurants.
Among the most representative monuments of the city there are: the Roman columns, symbol of continuity of the Roman empire which was moving towards the Mediterranean, and the fascinating San Giovanni al Sepolcro Temple, with its stories of saints and crusaders.
