Nardò, Lecce

The secret Salento

The town is about 30 kilometers away from Lecce but it is as much visited as this one .

What impress tourists are the Baroque buildings.

The fulcrum of the city is represented by Piazza Salandra, in which Baroque characterizes civil and religious monuments  of imposing beuty. But also other buildings catch the attention, like the church of San Trifone, little “rococò” jewel, and the church of San Domenico with “its profusion of saints, caryatids, and creatures that borders with manierism”.

A little tribute also goes to the beutful villas on the doors of the city and to the natural park of  Porto Selvaggio, “the misunderstood Salento”.
